Numbering systems:
- 1st one used by all departments (528 MIA)
xx No mx. number written on first releases
VP xxxx (cat. no. 7 to 6/7xx)
JDB-VP xxxx (cat. no. 606 to 745) Seems to rely on same numbering than VP matrixes. Only one value used 2 times: no. VP 1493
exceptions:
NVP xxxx Used only for 1 recording (NVP 1042) which is a reissue of VP 922
VP xxA Used only on 3 recording (VP84A, VP 85A, VP 108A)
VP-JB xxx (cat. no. 782)
VP-JDB xxxx (cat. no. 755, 761, 764 & 765)
-2nd used only by War department, arrived cat. no ~610 then the old matrix numbering system was still used on some releases (152 MIA)
JDB xxxx (cat. no. 613 to 765)
JBB xxx (cat. no. 731 to 735) ~15 recordings
JB xxx (cat. no. 746 to 805)
J xxxx (cat. no. 790 to 845)
strange cases: J 1628, J 1639, J 1676 & JB 7468
-3rd used only by War department, arrived cat. no. 846. Started with new numbers then kept back the 2nd one along the 3rd one (1 MIA: 1008)
USS xxxx (cat. no. 846 to 855)
Jxxx-USSxxxx (cat. no. 856 to 876)
Jxxx-xxxx (cat. no. 877 to 905)
Reissued mx.:
VP 881 on JDB-VP 881
VP 922 on NVP 1042
VP 941 (2) on JDB 179 (1)
VP 1493 on JDB-VP 1493
Duplicates:
JDB 26 but one cover is damaged that prevent to see last number. It is potentially JDB 28 for cat. no. 631
JDB 33 and JB 33
VP 89 but didnt saw covers. From the blurry one on Discogs. It is potentially VP 86 in fact for cat. no. 17
VP 398 but one cover is damaged that prevent to see last number. It is potentially VP 399 for cat. no. 157
JB 452 and J 452
1493 is used for different songs under VP 1493 and JDB-VP 1493
VP 1570 appears on 557 & 553
NB: Not sharing the missing list as it's quite long and can be built from this serie. Nevertheless it takes some time to build so I can provide details on request.
